Dear members of Skull Base Surgery Society of India,
It gives me great sense of responsibility to take over as the secretary of the SBSSI.
Skull base surgery over the past decade has grown impressively to encompass multiple sub-specialities. Endoscopic skull base surgery has practically replaced the open surgeries. There have been impressive developments in the area of cranio-vertebral junction surgery.
It is now the responsibility of the society to be the torch bearers to showcase, educate and spread the knowledge about the latest developments in this field through its annual congress and CME programs.
The congress at Cochin, 2017 was a grand success. The scientific program covered all recent aspects of skull base surgery. The organisers did a great job taking care of all the logistics and hospitality. I would personally like to congratulate Prof Dilip Panikar, and Dr Shyam Sundar and all the organising committee for doing an excellent job. Over 300 delegates attended this congress.
Our society has also now grown significantly with close to 400 members. The organizing committee from the Ludhiana are working hard to make the 2018 congress a grand success, Like always, we are planning for a cadaveric workshop, live surgeries, and feast of varied topics for the congress.
We hope that we will have a much greater attendance and participation at this congress after the grand success at the Bangalore congress.
Looking forward meeting all of you for the annual congress at Ludhiana in 2018
Warm personal regards
Prof. P Sarat Chandra
